Android Phone Realme 2 Smartphone Review 2024
Oppo's Sub Brand Realme has recently launched Realme 2 in India. Will the Reality 2 smartphone be able to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 or not. Let's understand on the basis of specification and price.
The handset manufacturer Oppo launched the Realme brand in May 2018 to strengthen its hold in the market and compete with Xiaomi. Oppo's Sub Brand Realme has recently launched Realme 2 in India. Realme 2 with two rear cameras and 16:9 display is priced at Rs 8,990 in India. Realme has claimed that Realme 1 (review) is not an upgrade version of Realme 2. According to the company, Realme 1 focuses on design and performance. At the same time, Realme 2 is an all-rounder budget smartphone. The cheapest variant of Realme 1 is no longer available for sale. This means Realme 2 has made its place in the low budget phone.
Realme 2 Design:
Design Like Realme 1, But Realme 2 has a fiberglass body. The glossy diamond-cut design has been given on the back panel of the handset. There are 15 tangent plane curves on the back of the smartphone, which reflect the light differently. Due to being fiberglass, scratches and fingerprints easily fall on the back panel. The notch display is present on the front panel, the border of Realme 2 is much thinner than the counter handsets present in the market. Even though the frame of Realme 2 is solid plastic, but the phone is still very strong. On the back panel, you will get a dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint sensor has been given for security. The name of the company is written on the back panel, (Realme). As we told you earlier, Realme has separated from Oppo and has now become a separate brand. This is the reason that the Oppo logo was present on the back panel of Realme 1, which you will not get to see in Realme 2.
There is no fingerprint sensor on the back panel for security in Realme 1. Face recognition technology has been used in this handset. After feedback from customers, the company has added the fingerprint sensor to Realme 2. The sad thing is that the fingerprint sensor present in Realme 2 works slowly and for the first time we had a problem in registering the fingerprint. Like Realme 1, face recognition is also available in Realme 2, it works accurately but in low light, it is not as effective.
On the left side of Realme 2, there is a button and SIM tray to increase and decrease the voice. If you want, you can install two nano SIMs and a microSD card. The power button is given on the right side of the phone. The button is very small but at the same time, it is also very hard, due to which you may have some difficulty in pressing it. The single loudspeaker has been provided with a micro-USB port. The first cell of the handset was on 4 September, it will be available in Diamond Red and Diamond Black color. We have a black color variant for review, as you can see in the photos. The Diamond Blue variant will be available from October.

Realme 2 has a 4,230 mAh battery for power backup. The company claims that it provides backup for 15 hours of video playback, 18 hours of music and 10 hours of gaming. Realme 2 out of box will run on ColorOs 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, single-band 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / A-GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB and 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a 6.2-inch HD + IPS display, which has an aspect ratio of 16: 9. This handset is equipped with Corina Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it from scratch.
Realme 2 Performance, Software and Battery Life
Realme 2 is capable of watching videos on YouTube, photographing, web browsing and using social media applications easily. While playing Asphalt 9, a number of frame drops occurred. One good thing in this phone is that it does not get hot. During the review we found that the phone slows down a bit when multitasking in Realme 2. The benchmark score is the average. Realme 2 got 76,929 points on Antutu Benchmark Score, 5,166 points in PC Mark Work 2.0. The GFX Bench quirk 3.1 has 12 frames per second and the GFX Bench T-Rex has 32 frames per second. 793 was scored in single core and Realme 2 in multi core test scored 3,882.
Dual SIM Realme 2 Out of Box runs on ColorOs 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset has received the July security patch. App drawer will not be available in the smartphone, Google Now panel has been replaced with a custom screen. On the screen, you will see the temperature, how many steps you have taken, latest photos, favorite contacts. There is a need to simplify the user interface. The Settings app is quite confusing and cluttered. ColorOS is equipped with many features like dual apps, shortcuts to take screenshots with three fingers, theme apps and lock screen gestures. Realme 2 has also added 'notch full screen multitasking' feature in the handset. This feature shows shortcuts to recently used apps. Turns off the notification and also provides a start screen recording option on the side of the notch.
WiFi Assistant switches between WiFi and cellular data quite easily. The smart driving feature will automatically turn on Do Not Disturb mode while you are driving. Realme 2 has a battery of 4,230 mAh which comes with 'AI Power Master'. Realme 2 battery life is much better due to the dim, low-race display and Snapdragon 450 processor. In HD video loop test, Realme 2 gave a backup of 17 hours 30 minutes. 40-50 percent of the battery was present even if the phone was used normally throughout the day. In the retail box, you will find a 10 watt standard charger of Oppo brand, which is capable of fully charging the phone in 3 hours.
Realme 2 Camera
Dual rear camera setup will be available in Realme 2. The primary sensor is 13 megapixels, which comes with f / 2.2 aperture. The secondary camera is 2 megapixels. On the front panel, you will find an 8 megapixel selfie camera, whose incarnation is f / 2.2. Single LED flash is present on the back panel. In the camera app, you will find panoramas, time laps and 28 AR stickers. The dynamic range of the camera is quite poor. Colors are not captured correctly in a photo taken at night. The rear camera is capable of accurately clicking photos when there is enough light. The quality of the picture taken during the portrait shot is average, while the picture taken at night looked blurred.

much because it gives a watercolor-like effect in the photo. The rear and front
camera of the phone can record video at 1080p.
Our Decision
Realme 2 battery life, unique design, microSD card slot, and build quality are quite good. The performance of the phone is decent, while the camera provides average quality in the picture. The fingerprint sensor on the back panel works at a slow speed. The sale of the cheapest variants of Realme 1 was stopped as soon as the launch of Realme 2. Please tell that the price of this variant of Reality 1 was Rs 8,990. Apart from this, you can buy 4GB / 64GB variants of Realme 1. The price of this handset is Rs 10,990.
